Use "one day" or "pending" for your license number if you don't have one. One day license is already in the price but will be refunded for annual license holders.

This is going to be a helluva a race. I wish I could motor pace the lead pack(s). The course itself is going to be fast. Most of the dirt is smooth and packed but there's enough sketchy stuff thrown in that anyone can get knocked out at any time. We have a couple of Nascar type yellow flags thrown in to bunch up the lead pack again if it starts to string out some. There will be a regroup at mile 28 and another at mile 54. The toughest stuff is from about miles 40 to 65 (of 77). Any breakaway gaps can be shot all to hell in that stretch. A real long chunk gravel section that will throw folks out of their rhythm and a few real sketchy turning descents. I expect that enough of a pack will go in there together to still have a good bumch of 'em riding together for the final 10 miles or so of sprinting. It will finish on a long, paved straightaway so photo finish and/or a classic finish sprint probably will come into play.

Please do talk this one up to the racer types. We're giving away almost all of our "profit" as purse money so I'm not talking it up for my bank account. I'd really like to throw a nice payout to the top 5 and give the roadie racer types something to look forward to next year.

Ok. As I was reading this I started getting butterflies. I'm pumped now and the race ain't for awhile. Why not have a filming car. I'm sure someone would really like to video lead group from a car.

It's tough running a car/truck out front on those dirt roads and still be close enough to video worth a damn. You can follow the lead pack but that doesn't usually make for good video.

True, and if it's dry, that would make it too dusty.

I will strap my helmet cam on and show the world what it's like to sweep the SS pack.

Will my scooter work instead of a car/truck?

I've never ridden a scooter on the gravel so I'm not sure. I'm thinking it would be less than ideal with the smaller wheels.

At Dirty Kanza vehicles were vorboten on the course. The people that shot photos (and later years video) were on dual sport or motocross bikes.

The KLR is more better.
