Scoring by Strava. Get your Strava apps dialed in.

How's the strava thing gonna work? Do I just down load it after the event to compare to the rest of the field or is there something I am missing?

We will still have the clock and log in sheet at the end but will use Strava to have fun with segments. Kind of like Fawley's KOM's we've had in during the last couple of Riots but for fastest time through the segments regardless of where you are in the field.

We have a flat paved segment, a long segment of gravel rollers and two tough climbing segments. The short route will only have the paved segment and the second climb.

We're at 35 entries already which is pretty damned good. If I have 50 by the weekend I can justify investing in some meat to throw on the smoker for afterwards. Spread the word if you want some grub afterwards. No biggie if there's no interest in that.

So we will just upload our Garmin file after the race like normal, and it should find the segments you already created in Strava, no?

Are you going to try and compare segment times the day of somehow?

Nah, those will be for after the event digestion. Playing with ideas for segment awards in future events but I want to see how the Strava stuff works (or doesn't) for that before hand.

Here's the long route.

Short route is now a Strava segment since Shannon rode it today.

Already have almost 50 signed up. BBQ will be served afterwards. BYOB. Arrows should be much more visible this year. Please prereg if possible. Day of registrations will be sent to the back of the line. We do have a 40 mile route that is pretty easy but the 64 mile one will definitely be fun with a couple of tough sections.

If you plan to register day of or still not sure if you are going please use the wait list on bikereg.com so we can already have your paperwork ready. Looks like we'll have a bit of a crowd so we want to speed things up as much as possible. Day of will be $30 but still only $20 online which closes tomorrow.

How confident are you with the route markings? For us slugs that may have to ride solo for a bit ... and who don't have a routing device ... will I be lost to the night forever?
Also, on the short route ... is there a store or something that will be open for refueling?

Carlos.... he's marking it pretty good with arrows/reflective tape Fri evening. I am sure one of us will prob drive the route Sat afternoon to make sure all are still up and in place too. As well... we will give everyone a cell# as a backup 'just in case'.

I'll check with Kev... but you might be able to borrow a garmin if needed (and it still works)... :)
