I was at Elmfork sport clays yesterday morning and, you don't need the golf carts, it's only like a half mile. So, there were ducks flying through and some quail just acting like total badasses hanging out on trees watching the skeet get shot. What I'm trying to say is, I have no idea what this topic is about, but is there some sort of biking/ shooting event that I could also suck at?

Funny, I was just checking the rates on this place last weekend. I had planned on going with some friends to make sure JeffL's shotgun still fires shot.
Rain pissed on that plan.
Place seems pricey though. Growing up with land less than an hour away really spoiled me.

Yeah, payin sucks but it's 4 miles from my house and with a good group it's pretty fun. We usually only do a half round so with shells and all it's around 40$ for a half round of sport clays which can take around an hour and a half. I usually go once a month. 5 stand rounds are cheaper

Okay folks, in putting this event on, I'd also like to play the role of "mentor." As you all well know, pre-race preparation for an event of this scale is of utmost importance. Today's lesson: Pre-race time management.

Now I don't mean what to eat when, or what time to get up...I literally just mean managing your actual running watch...like, simply checking the clock against other clocks, so you know the time it is telling you is the actual time.

The worst possible thing that could happen is that you are over in the corner of the treadmill room, stretching, jamming out to some awesome tunes, getting your legs in perfect order, monitoring all of your physiological metrics, while the other racers have already put three minutes into you.

That is like...THE WORST POSSIBLE THING THAT COULD HAPPEN TO YOU.

It's funny because Jabain showed up late to the start line of a race.

I get it, you're making fun of the gravel grinders.

"And he’s an experienced trials rider, a form of bicycle racing where you pedal against a clock to have the best time, not to pass other bicyclists and cross the finish line first, as in the Tour de France."

They obviously put their top cycling guy on this story.
