I got to thinking last night and we get like 3 extra weeks this year of "summer" because of Daylight Savings time getting turned off (or on, I can't ever remember how that works).

In any event it won't get dark too early that weekend...

So here's the plan:

-Road trip/camp out at Palo Duro on Friday (in the afternoon so we can still make some scratch at work), March 14th,

-get there just in time to set up camp (before it gets dark), tell lies around a fire, drink, etc...

-Ride on Saturday, camp out Saturday night, repeat ride on Sunday, come home that night in time for work on Monday

Beware the Ides of March bitches!

Talk to me. Why Womble over Palo Duro? Again, I said I'm not dead set on it. I've never ridden either, so both would be up for consideration.

So the Ides of March is Palo Duro. Stay tuned for the Womble ride, Tour #2 and Taos, Tour #3 later this year as well.

I'd pick the womble over palo duro any day. Palo duro is a sweet trail but there's not enough for a weekend of riding. The womble is 26 miles point-to-point (of perfect, flowing singletrack, sustained downhills, clear streams) and there are about 10 other nice trails in the general area.

Beechnut, that's the plan (nice pictures, BTW). This "DD Tour Series" is going to include three or four rides. So far:

#1 - Palo Duro on the weekend of March 15/16th (firm date)
#2 - Womble and more some time in Late May
#3 - Angel Fire/Taos South Boundary in early August

These may end up consisting of me and a handful of other folks (though the Taos ride is going to be big from preliminary accounts) and I'm ok with that. I'd rather see a lot of folks show up to places they've never ridden before though.

I am trying to work out some logistics for this. I checked into the cabins, but they appear to be unavailable. What are you guys doing and has anyone made reservations? Talk to me, I want to make this happen.
