With the onset of daylight savings time looming the Fort Worth Mountain Bikers' Association would like to take our club meetings in a new direction. In addition to discussing matters of club business we'd like to provide our membership the opportunity to educate themselves on related aspects of mountain biking. We all know that there is more to mountain biking than you, your bike and the trail. There is a lot to learn out there and FWMBA would like be a conduit to provide its members with the latest on fitness, bike setup and what's new on the shelves of the local bike shops.

Beginning on Wednesday, November 5th, 2008 at 7:00pm FWMBA will begin the first of several seminars for its members on the subject of rider well being. The seminar will be held at the offices of Active Spine and Sport Therapy by Dr. Brian Mulhall and his staff. Active Spine and Sport Therapy has a solid reputation in the cycling community and was voted "Best place to go for a sports injury in Texas" for 2007 by the readers of Competitor Texas Magazine. Some of the newer concepts in sports medicine and injury prevention will be discussed at the meeting. FWMBA encourages its members to read the Active Spine and Sport Therapy website and join your fellow mountain bikers on the night of November 5th, 2008 at 7:00pm. See: http://www.activespineandsport.com/ for more info and directions.

In the coming fall and winter months FWMBA will announce the date, time and location of meetings to highlight other mountain bike topics.
